About me
I am currently a Project Manager with the Strategic Outsourcing Group of IBM Corporation. My primary focus is on datacenters and leadership technologies that our organization could leverage.
Prior to that, I worked an Emerging Technologies Architect in the Office of CIO of IBM. Our group was tasked with identifying new and cool technologies that can help IBMers be more productive. Some examples of these included blogging, social networking, as well as other collaborative approaches.
Since I joined IBM in 1997, I have been focusing mostly on large enterprise web projects and application platforms. This involves working with many diverse IBM teams across the globe in a variety of different roles and is a lot of fun. I also tend to remain fairly hands-on with most of the technologies, perhaps because I am a computer person at heart. Some areas, such as performance and monitoring, tend to be the sore spot across most systems, which, in turn, has helped me to dig somewhat deeper into these areas.
Before joining IBM, I considered myself a physicist, rather than a computer geek. At the Lindsay Labs of Arizona State University, where I received my Ph.D. in Physics in late 1996, I worked on trying to understand structure of nucleic acids using computer modeling and Scanning Tunneling Microscopy. Before that, I worked on computer modeling of parallel DNA at the Institute of Molecular Genetics , Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology, and Moscow Institute of Physics of Technology (also known as MIPT or PhysTech), where I graduated in 1992 with a Masters degree in Physics and applied Mathematics.
I also completed an evening MBA program at the HAAS School of Business at the beautiful University of California, Berkeley . Being part of the amazing HAAS community was all about being surrounded by new technologies and figuring out how to apply them to real business problems.
Needless to say, views and opinions expressed on this web site are not necessarily those of my employer, IBM Corporation.
